Maternity Pictures and Bargains

My really exciting news of the week is we have maternity pictures tomorrow!

I cannot wait!

If you know Sam, you know he IS NOT the type of man to wear pink or purple or even Easter colored pastels. Well I want him to look nice for our maternity pictures so I suggested he go buy a nice white polo to wear with his khaki shorts so he will look handsome as ever.

of course Sam could wear rags and be the most handsome man in the world to me! =]

So we get a white polo and right next to it is this BEAUTIFUL dark purple polo.

Hes distracted talking on the phone with his Aunt Melody so I pick it up and stick it under the white polo! We walk around target (my favorite store if you cant tell I mention it in about every post!) and pick up little nic nacs that we need until he is off the phone and can try his shirt on.

We get to the dressing room and of course Sam's iffy about the purple polo. He tries on the white and looks handsome but pool boyish with his khakis on. He goes back in and puts the purple on and comes out and he looks AMAZING! I make him check himself out in the 360 mirror. I think he knows he looks good lol. From far away the polo looks almost like a blue BUT with my dress tomorrow it will compliment the flowers SO well.

So my awesome hubby caves and buys the purple!

I looked up the name of it on target.com and its called party purple LOL. I will be leaving that detail out.

My dress and Sam's polo =]

Looks blue right?

Were getting our pictures taken at Rock Springs Park in O Fallon. I first went to this park about a year ago when we moved here and our old landlord told us to check out their dog park they have there. We go all the time with Kodi and they have tall grass with wild flowers in it and some fences that look rustic/vintage. We were actually there last night with our friends The Ryan's and I was scoping out places and poses we could do.

One pose I really want to do is my favorite De mask blanket in the tall grass with Sam and I sitting on it and Sam holding pink balloons.

This is the blanket. Hopefully it will look cute and artsy.

I thought I would mention that this blog post is brought to you today by

its my motivation and energy =]

Yesterday at target we also bought Lilly a baby journal. Where you write all the parents information and the grandparents information. Then write funny things they do when they are a baby and you can take it to the hospital with you and get her hands and feet stamped in it.

There is a corner in her nursery by her crib that is so plain and I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with it. Well yesterday I was at party city getting a surprise for my hubby when I came across this

Its supposed to be for a baby shower but I think it will look SO cute hung up in the corner. With it being one short medium and long. The long one in the middle. Kind of like how the picture shows. I will prob do this today or tomorrow and Ill upload a picture of it and include it in my next post!

So the surprise I was getting for Sam was a little balloon to tie to his car so when he got out of work he had a little something to brighten his day. I love doing things like this for Sam not only because he is such an amazing husband but just BC I appreciate him so much. More than I can put into words or feelings a lot of the time. I feel so thankful and blessed to have been with him for so long and soon to have been married 5 years in April that I am still completely head over heels in love with him. Every single day feels like our honeymoon with him and I know that's something I'll never get sick of.  Also how hard he works. I love love love being able to be a house wife and cook and clean and do whatever I want whenever I want and have no certain time I have to be asleep every night. Soon enough all of Sam's hard work is going to be able to let me be a stay at home mom. Which to me is the American Dream. Who wouldn't want to stay home and spend all day with their kids and see them grow and not miss a thing. He has sacrificed a lot to provide for his family and Lilly and I will be forever grateful!

hehe

When he walked in the door after work I had a HUGE grin on my face and he looked at me and started laughing and said "I think i have a secret admirer"
Of course I have to ask who this woman could be!
"maybe its me??"
he replies "NO probably not"
HA HA love his sense of humor!
He gives me a big ol bear hug and kiss and says thanks he sets it on the floor and within seconds my bad cat keesler got it!
I'm glad I took this picture!

Hope I didn't embarrass him at work too much!

This is a little premature but I've been thinking about what I want my little fatty to be for Halloween.
Sam wants her to be Little Red Riding Hood and Kodiak will be the big bad Wolfe.
Only problem with that is I cant find little red riding hood capes any where.
Not even a Google search.

So when I was at party city yesterday I saw this beauty:

ooooh yes! If you know me at all WHAT-SO-EVER you know my intense love for cats lol.
I am SO excited to have found this when Sam and I are out to dinner I remember and show him the pictures and he laughs SO loud and he said "NO WAY you're crazy" This gets me laughing and I don't see the issue!
I love cats and I love Lilly soooo lets make Lilly a cat. Sam says I have a problem. He said I'm going to start Lilly down this horrible cat path I'm on HAHAH
It still makes me laugh now thinking of his reaction

Well during my busy day of shopping I remembered I needed to get Lillian a baby medical kit. The kit that has the nose sucker and thermometer, nail clippers, brushes and all that good stuff.

So I'm off to Babies R' Us.  I remembered they had a store brand 20 pc. kit for $19.99 that had all the essentials that I needed.

Well when I get there I see store brand kit and then right next to it is the Red Cross Kit for $19.99.

I pick them both up and turn them over and compare the pieces in each kit. The RC kit has 27 pcs. instead of 20 and it comes with a little travel bag. I decide to get that BC its the same price and I get a little extra.

I'm all done shopping all I needed was my little medical kit for $19.99

I get up to the cash register  and she swipes the kits and ask me if I'd like to make a donation to St. Jude. I say yes and she says OK your total is 54 dollars and some odd change.

uhmmm......

Can I take my donation back its like 30 dollars

I thought it would be a dollar

I feel bad asking her to take the donation off.

I look at her screen she has on her end and I see the medical kit rang up for 49.99

(phheeewwwwwww)

I verify that it rang up wrong and I tell her that its over there right next to the cash register and the price tag says 19.99.

She walks over to where I pointed and she looks at it and comes back and gets the manager. The manager comes and looks at it and comes over to me and explains that the person who was stocking put all the red cross kits in the wrong area and they truly are $49.99 BUT since it was their mistake I get it for $19.99

WHHAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

stuff like that NEVER happens to me EVER

I was so happy!

So here is my unintentional bargain!

I also may mention I did donate a dollar LOL NOT 30

I was so excited when I left I had to call my Mom and tell her.

Even Sam was impressed with my awesome "find"

It has a lot of cool little things in it. Half of it I don't think Ill use but that's OK.

So that has been my adventures for the past couple days. Pretty exciting life ;)

Ill post again soon!

6 more weeks... or 3

I went in for my 34 week check up today.

I've gained 3lbs since my last visit to her over a month ago.

Which most people don't think is a lot but makes me feel like a total COW!

My blood pressure was 110/74 perfecto!

Since we found out I have gestational diabetes we thought I would have to go to the Scott Clinic but since my sugar #'s are good and can be be controlled by diet I was allowed to go back to my doctor.

Capt. Chatman (Doctor Chatman to me =]) is my doctor and I cannot say enough how much I love her!
She is so thorough and tells me exactly what I have to do and she doesn't mess around.  I ask her a million questions EVERY visit and she goes through each and every single one with me and explains it to me in understandable terms. Shes serious when she needs to be and and funny when she doesn't. I know that she really cares about my health and cares about Lilly's too. I'm so glad I got her by chance.

Well when she walked into my little exam room today she was like "HELLLO! im so excited you're here you get to stay with me!" I was pretty excited too lol I reallllllly didn't want to have to get use to a new doctor. Esp after bring spoiled with one I love.

But she told me I have to start tracking my sugars again =[  I hate doing that its so annoying. Not even the 4x a day finger pricks bother me its waiting the two hours to test that drives me insane. I hate the feeling of constantly waiting.

Well she said she was impressed. That my numbers were great. Just to track them again and come in next Friday and see the walk in clinic and show them my numbers so they know im still doing good.

Then I will see her at my 36 week appointment where I'll get the strep test. If i test positive for that than I have to go to hospital immediately when my water breaks and be put on penicillin. If its not positive she said when my water breaks at home I can relax a little and shower and get really ready for when she comes but not to wait too long.

Its so exciting talking about this stage already.

I cant believe its almost here.

After that she took my fundal height and it measured 37 weeks which is 3 weeks bigger than what I am right now.

She said she will prob do another growth ultrasound closer to 37-38 weeks to see how big she is.

She said she weighs about 5lbs right now. Which is a little high in the sense of ounces and grams BUT not pounds which is awesome.

She said If i continue to take good care of myself and track my sugars and make sure they aren't out of control than I can most likely go into labor naturally and NOT have to be induced! YAY!

She said BUT that is what she is saying now and it could change at any time. She said well play the inducing part by ear and determine week by week what our plan is.

I have to sign up for my labor and Delivery tour here soon. Sam is interested in doing La Maz classes which I think will be GREAT for him to feel included and a part of the process. It also helps him in being a little more prepared.

The hospital just called and I'm preregistered so now I just have to do the tour and pre-admit myself!

So far everything coming together slowly but surely!

I cant wait to see my little girl!

Ultrasound!

In one of my latest blog post I talked about how I have to get an ultrasound to see how much my little fatty weighs because she was measuring 2 weeks over.

Well today was that day!

My appointment was at 9am. I got up got ready and headed on over.

Guess who was waiting for me?

SAM!

When I called to make my appointment they told me that he wouldn't be able to come back at all during the ultrasound =[

Well he had to work anyways so I was bummed but figured oh well.

Sammy was able to sneak away from work for an hour to wait in the waiting room during my appointment.

To his credit esp with his CRAZY schedule he has never missed an appointment ever.

I don't think he was going to let this ultrasound be an exception =]

I get called back by the same guy who did my 20 week ultrasound, Steve.

He remembers me, probably because I'm THAT patient.  Last time I asked a MILLION questions.

Whats this? Whats that? Is that normal? Can you take a picture of that?

Very annoying. I know.

When were walking down the hallway I asked if Sam can come back afterwards to see her. He said "yes ill go get him when I've taken all the measurements."

MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA< that's exactly how I felt. Like I had tricked them into letting Sam back and used his other other employee against him by not telling them they originally told me no!

We go into the room which is ALWAYS dark and makes me sleepy.

I get the HOT jelly on my belly which makes me even more sleepy because its so warm.

He gets the Doppler reader thingy and starts to roll over my belly and what do you know her little face pops up.

When you first look at it its like what the heck is this.

So for you viewing pleasure I labeled everything!

Now that you know what everything is its a little easier to go back to the original picture and look.

One of the things I was most surprised about are her HUGE cheeks.

These pictures don't do her sweet little face justice at all.

They are fuzzy and out of focus but she is UBER cute and her cheeks are just ginormous.

I think she will have Sam's nose.

We got to see her beautiful little heart pumping away. Its crazy how when you have your first ultrasound its just a little flutter on the screen and now its a huge heart pumping hard. We could see all 4 little chambers of it too.

He showed us her bladder and her belly.

Now for the big news!

He said this is just a guess BC he is just the sonographer (is that right?) and NOT the radiologist but he would say 4lb 11oz to 5lb 11 oz.

Perfect size for her gestation!

Ill find out a more exact number when I go to my doctors on Friday.

So since I've bragged about my real kid enough for one post ill brag about my fur kids!

For starters:

Kodi being slightly inappropriate. I came down one morning after waking up and this is what I was greeted with.

I was getting all the laundry out of the bathroom and closet getting ready to wash a load and someone wants to help. Keesler is horrible at laundry may I add.

This is a side of Klutz rarely anyone gets to see often besides Sam and Myself.

Close up on that sweet little face.

I think Keesler's favorite thing is fresh sheets. Every time I make the bed she comes up and lays on the sheets. So I just put the blankets on top of her and she eventually finds her way out!

So Sam's sister Anna got me a Boppy for my baby shower. I registered for the Owl Boppy but since I registered out of state the inventory was different in her store than it was in mine and they didn't have the owl one. So she bought me the naked (no cover just plain white) one. Well I have been searching and searching for the owl one since I've returned home. I cant find it ANY WHERE. I look online and I see target still has carries it. YES! Ill just wait until the store is stocked and I'll go get it. I click on it to see if its in stock at any of the local stores around here and it says DISCONTINUED IN STORE.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I was all bummed and just figured I'll buy a cover for it when I find one I like.

Sam and I go out to dinner last night and I wanted to walk around a little bit afterwards to let my food settle.

We decide on target.

I of course go straight to the baby aisle and look at all the cute stuff and show Sam the presents I bought for a friend who has a shower coming up.

Sam spots it before I do and hes like "oh look" and he holds up the darn Owl Boppy!

I about screamed, I was SO excited.

I of course didn't have my naked boppy on me to exchange so I start panicking like "how am I going to get this? Someone is going to come take it before I can come back. Ill never find it again"

I decide to ask customer service if they will hold it for me so I can run home get the other one and come back and exchange it. They actually said yes I was really surprised!

Sam and I race home, get the Boppy and come back to exchange it.

SUCCESS!

This is a picture I stole off Google but its the exact same.

Over all today and last night were very good days! =]

Baby Girls Room!

We debated for a while on what theme we wanted to do her room in.

The only thing we came back to over and over was Owls.

Thankfully owls are really in right now so we were in luck.

When we registered we decided to register mostly for owl themed things, like bedding and decor.

At the baby shower we got a lot of cute owl blankets and frames and related items.

So when we put together her room everything came together smoothly!

The glider was from my mom and my sister Rachel.
She used it for my nephew when he was a baby!
The Blanket was made by Sams Mom for Lilly and has a lot of sentimental value to us.
The boppy is from Sams sister Anna Marie from my shower.
The Owl canvas picture is from my brother-in-law Jordan.
The dresser we bought for $20 at a yard sale and I think were going to buy new dresser knobs for it.
The Black framed picture was a part of our favor at the baby shower. It has a picture of Lilly during a 3D ultrasound and it says thank you for showing your love for our runt.
The favor was little bags of runts!
The other framed picture is a birth announcement like photo it has all her info on it and room for a picture and thats from Mallory Hysong =]

We found her crib at Walmart for a GREAT deal.
We paid $311.00 for her crib, dresser, and diaper changing station.
I was really worried that it would be flimsy or cheap feeling but we were blessed that its sturdy and not to mention beautiful.
The frame on top of the dresser is a cute artsy owl frame my mom got for her.
You cant see it in this picture but there is an ADORABLE owl keep sake box that my moms good friend Chris got us for the baby shower and I just love it.
In it right now we have her binkies a special owl spoon my mom got her.
My friend Desiree also got me stickers that I put on her onezie each month and take a picture for a whole year and those stickers in there because I don't want to lose those!
The owl rug I bought from target with gift cards from the shower and it was only 19.99!
Its supposed to be a bath rug but you cant tell the difference.
The blanket you see hanging off the crib is from Sams sister Rebekah.
The bedding is from Target.
It came with a skirt sheet and comforter.
We paid 54.99 for it with gift cards we received.
A little pricey but for our first kid its worth it =]

That cat was free 4 years ago =]

This is her Diaper changing table that came with her crib and dresser.
We bought the pad at Babies R us for 26.99
The cover was 17.99.
On the bottom shelf are all blankets to keep her warm and cozy.
Top shelf is stuff like wipes, lanolin, nursing pads, diapers too!
My little keepsake chest I was telling you about.

Lilly's picture of her Mommy and Daddy on their honeymoon in 2008

Her bedding we bought at Target.
There is an Owl tag blanket too that my friend Ashley made her.

Her bassinet she will be sleeping in beside our bed from my amazing friend Kenzie!

Clothes that fit better on the hanger than the drawer

I know its dark but these two laundry baskets are clothes that are 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, and 9-12 months that she wont be wearing right away.
We washed and folded them all so when were ready for them well just pull the baskets down and stock her dresser!

These are all just strictly Newborn onezies. We have SO many.

These are all her sleepers and sleep sacks for newborn.

These for the most part are outfits and pants and some onezies that are newborn!

this is my diaper bag I bought from Babies R Us.
Inside is a blanket my sister Wren made for her!
We bought this because it matches her stroller and we can use it for the next baby!

Her stroller which is gender neutral and has owls on it.

Her cute little car seat that we just installed last week!

This is the print on her stroller except in the brown pattern at the bottom its an Owl instead of an elephant.

Sam and I received so many gift for Lillian at our shower that we are SO grateful for.
We were able to buy her  stroller and car seat (on clearance what are the chances?!) for $161.00.

I cant wait for just a little but more than a month and I can put all this awesome stuff to use!
Its going to be here before we know it and we cant wait!
